Green Isle of Wight at NEA Conference

Green Isle of Wight at the National Energy Action Annual Conference & Exhibition 2026

Last week, Lisa Beaney, Managing Director of Green Isle of Wight CIC and a passionate advocate for energy justice and fuel poverty reduction, attended and spoke at the prestigious National Energy Action (NEA) Annual Conference and Exhibition — held from 9–11 February 2026 at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in Gateshead.

This three-day event, marking NEA’s 45th anniversary, brought together expert policymakers, energy advisors, community partners, and grassroots organisations from across the UK. Delegates united around one key objective: ending fuel poverty and ensuring warm, affordable homes for all.

Lisa led an insightful contribution to the Breakout B: “Retrofit: More than just the measures” session — joining sector experts to explore how we engage households with retrofit, support them through installation, and ensure measures truly deliver energy savings and comfort. Her perspective, rooted in lived experience and community action on the Isle of Wight, highlighted the importance of tailored, accessible energy support across diverse communities.

Reflecting on the experience, Lisa said it was invaluable to share lessons from the Island and connect with organisations driving national energy policy conversations. The conference provided rich dialogue on scaling energy efficiency, tackling digital exclusion, and shaping regional fuel-poverty strategies.

Green Isle of Wight CIC remains committed to implementing robust, inclusive solutions that help residents reduce energy costs, improve wellbeing, and build a more sustainable future.

Stay tuned for more updates on our work and how national collaboration continues to shape community-level energy action.
