Green Isle of Wight now delivers the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) across the Island. We offer free telephone advice and in-depth home visits for eligible households. We can also connect you to help with broken boilers, replacement essential appliances, and financial support (where eligible).

What you'll get
with LEAP

  • Practical energy advice by phone or at home – tailored to your property and situation.
  • Free “easy measures” installed during a full home visit (LED bulbs, draught strips/brushes, radiator panels, chimney balloon, door excluders, remote sockets).
  • Help checking for bigger upgrades (insulation/heating via ECO/LA schemes) and referrals for income maximisation, appliance or boiler help, and financial assistance if you qualify.
  • Optional tariff check/switching support using an approved comparison route.

What happens at a home visit

    1. 📅 Book a slot that suits you (one of our team will phone and arrange a conveninet date and time)

    2. 🪪 A local LEAP Home Energy Advisor (with ID and DBS check) visits for up to 2 hours.

    3. 🔧 On-the-spot improvements fitted where suitable and safe.

    4. 🔁 Referrals arranged (benefits, appliance or boiler help, ECO measures) if you qualify.

Who is it for ?

LEAP prioritises Islanders who’d benefit most—typically low incomes, high energy costs, or vulnerable circumstances (e.g. long-term health conditions, older residents, families with young children). If you’re unsure, apply anyway and we’ll guide you.
